Last Updated: September 26, 2026Advertising Policy
At ASLTyping.com, our first purpose is education and usefulness.
We create and develop free tools, learning resources, games, visual materials, articles, and other content to help people learn, practice, explore, and create.
Running a website like ASLTyping also has real costs.
These may include hosting, development, security, maintenance, research, design, technical services, and the time of the people working behind the platform.
Advertising may be one way we support those costs and help keep useful parts of ASLTyping freely accessible.
This Advertising Policy explains how advertising may appear on ASLTyping, how we distinguish advertising from our own content, and what visitors should understand about third-party advertisements.
Our basic principle is:
Advertising may help support ASLTyping, but it should not become more important than the people who use ASLTyping.
1. Advertising on ASLTyping
ASLTyping may display advertisements provided by third-party advertising networks or other advertising partners.
These advertisements may appear in different areas of the website depending on:
- page layout;
- device type;
- available advertising inventory;
- user location;
- consent choices;
- advertising settings;
- and other relevant factors.
The exact advertisements shown to one visitor may differ from those shown to another visitor.
2. Google AdSense
ASLTyping plans to use or may use Google AdSense as an advertising service.
Google AdSense allows website publishers to display advertisements supplied through Google’s advertising systems.
Depending on applicable settings, consent, location, and other factors, advertisements may be selected using contextual or other permitted signals.
Google and its advertising partners may also use technologies such as cookies or other identifiers in connection with ad serving, measurement, reporting, fraud prevention, frequency management, and—where permitted—advertising personalization.
Please review our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for additional information about cookies and advertising-related data practices.
3. Personalized and Non-Personalized Advertising
Depending on applicable law, your location, consent choices, and the advertising system being used, ASLTyping may display personalized or non-personalized advertising.
Personalized Advertising
Personalized advertisements may use permitted information or signals to make advertisements more relevant to a user’s interests or activity.
Non-Personalized Advertising
Non-personalized advertisements are not selected based on a user’s past behavior for personalization in the same way.
They may instead use contextual information, such as the content being viewed or general location information.
Non-personalized advertising may still involve limited technologies necessary for functions such as frequency management, aggregated reporting, security, or fraud prevention.
Your available choices may depend on your location and applicable privacy requirements.
4. Advertising and Consent
Where applicable law or advertising-platform requirements require consent, ASLTyping intends to provide appropriate consent choices before certain advertising technologies are used.
Depending on your location, you may see a privacy or consent message allowing you to make choices concerning:
- cookies;
- advertising;
- personalized advertising;
- analytics;
- data processing;
- or other non-essential technologies.
Some choices may be managed through a Consent Management Platform (CMP).
Please see our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy for more information.
5. Visitors in the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland
Visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland may be provided with additional privacy and advertising choices.
Where ASLTyping uses Google advertising products and applicable requirements call for it, we intend to use an appropriate consent-management solution for affected visitors.
Depending on your choices and the applicable advertising configuration, advertising may be personalized, non-personalized, limited, or otherwise handled according to the relevant requirements.
We may update our consent implementation as laws, advertising technologies, and platform requirements change.
6. Advertisements Are Not Automatically Our Recommendations
This is important.
An advertisement appearing on ASLTyping does not automatically mean that ASLTyping, our founder, or our team recommends or endorses the advertised company, product, service, or claim.
Third-party advertising systems may automatically select advertisements.
We may not personally choose, test, use, review, or approve every product or service that appears in an advertisement.
Please evaluate advertisements independently before making a purchase or providing information to an advertiser.
7. We May Not Control Every Advertisement
When advertisements are delivered through an independent advertising network, ASLTyping may not have complete control over every individual advertisement shown to every visitor.
Ad selection may be influenced by the advertising platform and various technical, contextual, geographic, privacy, or advertising signals.
Therefore, the appearance of a particular advertisement should not automatically be interpreted as a statement from ASLTyping.
8. Editorial Content and Advertising
We want visitors to be able to distinguish between our own content and advertising.
Our educational articles, tools, dictionary resources, games, guides, and other editorial materials should not be secretly controlled by an advertiser simply because advertising appears on the same page.
Advertising revenue should not automatically determine the conclusions of our editorial content.
Please see our Editorial Policy for more information about our approach to editorial independence.
9. Identifying Advertising
Where reasonably appropriate, advertisements or paid promotional content may be identified using labels or disclosures such as:
Advertisement
Ad
Sponsored
Sponsored Content
Paid Partnership
or another label appropriate to the context.
The exact label may vary depending on the advertising platform and type of commercial relationship.
Our intention is to avoid deliberately presenting paid promotional content as independent editorial content.
10. Advertising Should Not Deceive Visitors
We do not want advertising to intentionally mislead visitors about what is part of ASLTyping’s interface.
For example, we do not want an advertisement deliberately designed by us to make visitors believe it is:
- an ASLTyping navigation button;
- a required download button;
- part of a game;
- part of a quiz answer;
- an account control;
- an official ASLTyping recommendation;
- or another website feature
when it is actually an advertisement.
Clear distinction between content and advertising helps protect user trust.
11. Advertising Around Tools
ASLTyping may display advertisements on pages containing free tools.
However, advertising should not intentionally interfere with the normal use of a tool.
We aim to avoid ad placement that deliberately causes users to click an advertisement when they are simply trying to:
- type into a tool;
- generate a result;
- start a game;
- answer a question;
- download an allowed output;
- reset a tool;
- navigate to another ASLTyping feature; or
- use an ordinary interface control.
A visitor should not have to guess whether a functional button is actually an advertisement.
12. Advertising Around Games
Advertising may appear on pages containing ASLTyping games.
Where it does, we want the learning and game experience to remain understandable.
Advertisements should not intentionally be designed to look like:
- game answers;
- score controls;
- leaderboard buttons;
- game rewards;
- required game actions;
- or navigation necessary to continue playing.
Our games are intended for learning and practice.
Advertising should support the platform rather than unnecessarily confuse the learner.
13. Advertising and the ASL Picture Dictionary
Advertisements may appear around ASL Picture Dictionary pages or related learning content.
An advertisement displayed near a dictionary entry does not form part of the dictionary definition or educational content unless clearly stated otherwise.
Likewise, an advertiser does not automatically sponsor or approve an ASL entry merely because its advertisement appears nearby.
14. Advertising Should Not Overwhelm the Content
The reason people visit ASLTyping is to use the content and tools.
Advertising should not become the main purpose of a page.
We aim to maintain a reasonable balance between:
our content
and
commercial material.
We do not want visitors to open an educational page and struggle to find the actual educational material because the page is overwhelmed by advertising.
The long-term value of ASLTyping depends more on visitor trust than on maximizing the number of advertisements on a page.
15. User Experience Matters
When deciding how advertising is displayed, we aim to consider:
- readability;
- mobile usability;
- page speed;
- accessibility;
- navigation;
- content visibility;
- accidental clicks;
- tool usability;
- and overall visitor experience.
An advertisement may generate revenue.
But if its placement makes the website frustrating or unusable, that can undermine the reason ASLTyping exists.
16. Intrusive Advertising
We aim to avoid intentionally implementing advertising experiences that are unnecessarily disruptive.
Depending on the advertising service and page type, we may review the use of formats that:
- cover important content;
- interfere with navigation;
- create excessive interruption;
- make pages difficult to read;
- create accidental-click risks;
- or significantly interfere with tools and games.
Advertising formats and platform standards can change, so we may adjust placements over time.
17. Advertising and Children
Some ASLTyping content may be useful to children, families, parents, and teachers.
Advertising in connection with child-oriented or family-oriented content requires particular care.
Where applicable, we aim to follow relevant advertising-platform requirements and legal obligations concerning children and younger users.
Parents and guardians should supervise children’s online activity where appropriate.
We do not want advertising to exploit children’s limited ability to distinguish commercial persuasion from educational content.
18. Sensitive Advertising
Third-party advertising networks may have their own policies governing sensitive or restricted categories of advertisements.
Where controls are available to us, we may choose to block or restrict certain advertising categories that we believe are clearly inappropriate for ASLTyping’s audience or purpose.
However, because third-party advertising can be dynamic, we cannot promise that we will manually review every advertisement before it appears.
If you see an advertisement that you believe is seriously inappropriate, deceptive, harmful, or unsuitable for ASLTyping, you may contact us.
19. Reporting an Advertisement
If you believe an advertisement displayed on ASLTyping is:
- deceptive;
- offensive;
- harmful;
- inappropriate for our audience;
- impersonating ASLTyping;
- technically disruptive;
- or otherwise concerning,
please consider reporting it through the advertising platform’s available controls where possible.
You may also contact our team.
If contacting us, helpful information may include:
- the page where the advertisement appeared;
- a screenshot;
- the approximate date and time;
- your general country or region, if relevant;
- and a description of the advertisement.
Because advertisements can vary between users, this information may help us investigate.
20. Third-Party Advertisers
Independent advertisers are responsible for their own:
- products;
- services;
- claims;
- pricing;
- websites;
- customer service;
- privacy practices;
- warranties;
- shipping;
- refunds;
- subscriptions;
- and business conduct.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, ASLTyping is not the seller of products appearing in third-party advertisements.
Any transaction you enter into with an advertiser is generally between you and that third party.
21. Please Review Advertiser Claims Yourself
Advertising is promotional by nature.
Before purchasing a product, registering for a service, providing personal information, or making an important decision based on an advertisement, we encourage you to review the advertiser independently.
Consider checking:
- the actual seller;
- product details;
- price;
- reviews;
- refund terms;
- privacy practices;
- subscriptions;
- shipping;
- and other information relevant to your decision.
Do not assume a product has been verified by our team simply because its advertisement appeared on ASLTyping.
22. We Cannot Guarantee Advertised Products
ASLTyping does not guarantee the:
- quality;
- safety;
- accuracy;
- effectiveness;
- availability;
- legality;
- suitability;
- delivery;
- or performance
of every independently advertised product or service.
Our responsibility for third-party advertising is subject to our Terms of Use and applicable law.
23. Advertising and External Websites
Clicking an advertisement may take you away from ASLTyping.
Once you visit an independent advertiser’s website, that website may operate under its own:
- Privacy Policy;
- Cookie Policy;
- Terms of Use;
- return policies;
- purchasing rules;
- and other conditions.
ASLTyping does not control every independent website reached through an advertisement.
Please use reasonable care before entering personal or payment information.
24. Advertising Cookies and Similar Technologies
Advertising services may use cookies or similar technologies for purposes such as:
- serving advertisements;
- measuring advertising performance;
- frequency management;
- fraud prevention;
- reporting;
- and, where permitted, advertising personalization.
Depending on the advertising provider, technologies may also involve device or browser information, IP addresses, web beacons, or other identifiers.
Please see our Cookie Policy and Privacy Policy for more detailed information about these technologies and your available choices.
25. Analytics and Advertising Measurement
Advertising services may provide aggregated or other reporting that helps publishers understand advertising performance.
This may include information such as:
- impressions;
- clicks;
- estimated advertising performance;
- device categories;
- geographic information at an appropriate level;
- or other reporting metrics.
The exact information available depends on the advertising provider and configuration.
We do not need to know your personal identity simply to understand that an advertisement received an impression or interaction.
26. Invalid Traffic and Artificial Ad Interaction
Visitors should use ASLTyping naturally.
Please do not click advertisements simply to financially support us.
Please do not:
- repeatedly click advertisements;
- use automated clicking systems;
- ask other people to click advertisements artificially;
- generate fake ad impressions;
- use bots to manipulate advertising activity;
- or otherwise attempt to create invalid advertising traffic.
If you are interested in an advertisement, you may interact with it normally.
If you are not interested, you do not need to click it.
The best way to support ASLTyping is to use our resources genuinely and share useful pages with people who may benefit from them.
27. We Will Not Ask You to Click Ads
ASLTyping should not ask visitors to click advertisements merely to support the website.
We also do not intend to offer artificial rewards for clicking ordinary third-party ads unless a specific advertising format legitimately operates that way under applicable platform rules.
Advertising interactions should be genuine.
28. Sponsored Content
ASLTyping may accept sponsored content or paid collaborations in the future.
Sponsored content differs from automatically served display advertising.
Where a company directly compensates us to create, feature, or promote content, we aim to disclose that material relationship appropriately.
Possible labels may include:
Sponsored
Sponsored Content
Paid Partnership
or another clear disclosure.
Sponsored content should not be disguised as an independent recommendation.
29. Sponsored Content Does Not Guarantee a Positive Opinion
If ASLTyping accepts a sponsored opportunity, payment should not automatically guarantee that we will make false claims or knowingly mislead visitors.
Any factual claims provided by a sponsor may require appropriate attribution or verification depending on the context.
We may decline or discontinue a sponsorship that we believe is unsuitable for ASLTyping.
30. Affiliate Links Are Different
ASLTyping may also use affiliate links.
Affiliate links differ from ordinary display advertising.
With an affiliate relationship, ASLTyping may receive compensation if a visitor completes a qualifying transaction or action through a tracked link.
Please review our Affiliate Disclosure for detailed information about affiliate relationships.
31. Advertising Does Not Change Copyright Permissions
The fact that ASLTyping earns advertising revenue does not make our original content public domain.
Our:
- Picture Dictionary content;
- original images;
- written materials;
- tools;
- games;
- code;
- databases;
- books;
- worksheets;
- designs;
- and other protected materials
remain subject to applicable intellectual property rights and our Copyright / DMCA Policy.
Likewise, advertisers retain responsibility for intellectual property associated with their own advertisements.
32. Advertising Does Not Buy ASLTyping’s Identity
An advertiser does not become part of ASLTyping simply because its advertisement appears on our website.
Unless we clearly announce an official relationship, an advertisement does not mean the advertiser:
- owns ASLTyping;
- operates ASLTyping;
- controls our team;
- represents us;
- is represented by us;
- or has an official partnership with us.
We want the distinction between ASLTyping and third-party advertisers to remain clear.
33. Our Editorial Independence
Advertising may financially support ASLTyping.
It should not secretly rewrite our educational conclusions.
Our editorial process is described in our Editorial Policy.
Where a commercial relationship materially influences a piece of content, we aim to disclose that relationship appropriately.
Visitors should be able to distinguish independent editorial material from paid promotion.
34. No Guaranteed Advertising Revenue
The use of advertising does not guarantee that ASLTyping will earn a particular amount of revenue.
Advertising income can vary based on many factors outside our control.
We do not design our educational claims around promises of advertising income.
Our primary goal remains building useful resources.
35. Changes to Advertising Partners
ASLTyping may add, remove, or change advertising providers over time.
We may also:
- change ad placements;
- test different formats;
- reduce advertising;
- increase advertising within reasonable limits;
- remove certain ad categories;
- disable advertising on certain pages;
- or change how consent and privacy settings work.
These decisions may change as the website grows.
36. Changes to This Advertising Policy
Advertising technologies, privacy laws, industry standards, and advertising-platform requirements can change.
We may therefore update this Advertising Policy from time to time.
When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.
If a change materially affects visitor privacy, our Privacy Policy or Cookie Policy may also be updated where appropriate.
37. Questions About Advertising?
If you have a genuine question about advertising on ASLTyping, please contact our team through our Contact page.
You may also contact us if you believe:
- an advertisement is causing a technical problem;
- an ad is being confused with ASLTyping content;
- an advertisement appears seriously inappropriate;
- a sponsored relationship has not been clearly disclosed;
- or another advertising issue deserves our attention.
We cannot promise that every third-party advertisement can be individually controlled, but we can review legitimate concerns.

A Personal Note from Our Founder
Before you leave this page, I want to say something personally.
I understand that very few people visit an educational website because they want to see advertisements.
You come here to learn.
You come to use a tool.
You come to practice.
You may be a student looking for help, a parent searching for a resource, a teacher preparing something for learners, or simply someone curious about ASL.
I never want us to forget that.
At the same time, building and maintaining ASLTyping requires real resources.
There are servers to maintain, tools to develop, security to manage, content to research, designs to create, problems to fix, and new ideas our team would like to build.
Advertising may help us support some of those costs while allowing many of our resources to remain freely available.
But there is a balance I want us to remember:
The website should never feel as though the content exists only to hold advertisements.
The advertisements should help support the content.
Not the other way around.
If one day you feel that an advertisement is seriously damaging your experience on ASLTyping, please tell us.
If something covers a tool, creates confusion, looks like one of our buttons, or simply feels inappropriate for the kind of platform we are trying to build, we want to know.
Revenue matters because a project needs to survive.
But trust matters because without trust, there is no meaningful project to survive.
So thank you for understanding why advertising may appear here.
Thank you for using our free resources.
Thank you for supporting the work of our team.
And whether you support us by sharing a page, using a tool, giving thoughtful feedback, returning to learn again, or simply wishing us well—I appreciate it.
As we continue building ASLTyping, please keep me, our team, and this project in your prayers and good wishes.
May we have the wisdom to build sustainably without losing our purpose, the discipline to respect the people who visit us, and the opportunity to keep creating resources that genuinely help people.
With gratitude and warm wishes,
Founder, ASLTyping
On behalf of the entire ASLTyping team
